About Kunstenaars&CO
Kunstenaars&CO encourages and supports artists, creatives and cultural organisations in their professionalizing and their development towards economic independence. In order to earn money and make a living, artists must have more going for them than talent and craftsmanship alone. Perhaps just as important are the abilities to communicate professionally, to build and maintain a network, to develop plans, to make budgets and to negotiate effectively. Kunstenaars&CO is here to help them. With as its starting point that the artists preserve their creative individuality.
Working together
Kunstenaars&CO works together with artists and creatives from all disciplines: from photographers to scriptwriters, from actors to painters, and from designers to composers. And from recent academy graduates to established professionals. For artists with a professional art education and for autodidacts who are working professionally. In addition, Kunstenaars&CO works with various organisations in the cultural sector, the healthcare sector, local communities and the business world. Entrepreneurship, innovation and professionalism are always central.
Statutory duty
Under the authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, Kunstenaars&CO conducts investigations into the professionalism of artists who wish to make use of the benefits provided under the Wet Werk en Inkomen Kunstenaars (WWIK; Income Provisions for Artists Act). Under the authority of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Kunstenaars&CO is also responsible for the so-called flanking policy associated with the WWIK.
The management of the foundation is executed by Jo Houben and the Supervisory Board.
